Women’s Day celebration – 2014
Motivated by CDEW and keeping the theme “Inspiring Change for Women’s Empowerment” the International Women’s Day was celebrated in different centers of the Bangalore Province in a grand way. As we present the reports of those communities who had the celebration, we also congratulate them for taking pains to celebrate this great day and thus honouring our women.
As at no other time, the world was looking at the International Day of Women with anxiety and excitement. What is happening to the women all over the world?
“Inspiring Change for Women Empowerment”
Inspiring change for what purpose?
Today we need to:
* inspire the young women and girls on their rights,
* inspire more leadership roles,
* inspire for equal recognition in all the sectors
* inspire to change their gender stereotypes.
* Inspire change in their lives who have lost their faith, who are facing the challenges of life and live in inhuman situations, who have negative experiences of love.
* Inspire change in those who are living in rural culture, who are victims of male-dominated rituals and traditions, child labour and child abuse.
* We need to empower young women and girls to become messengers of peace and justice.
